Ian is an experienced dancer and carrier of many teachings. Dancing since the age of 4, he has experience not only in his current styles, but also Chicken dance and Men's Fancy. He honoured us by sharing one of his spirit names, which he usually reserves only for Ceremony, Manidog Miniiwag which means Makes The Spirits Dance.
Ian has been facilitating workshops around Native song and dance since 1997, and in 2002 became a Cultural Outreach facilitator for the Toronto Native Friendship Centre, which he is still involved with today, while also involving the Toronto District School Board, Northern Affairs, and other private sector companies.
These workshops include oral teachings such as Men and Women teachings, the Medicine Wheel, Sweat Lodge, Fasting, Rights of Passage, Native Contributions Misconceptions and Stereotypes, and hands on workshops including Beading, Dream Catchers, Hand Drum making, Regalia Layout.
